Mild Steel Billets

MS Billets are semi-finished casting products produced in a steel mill that needs to be further processed to transform it into finished goods like Rebar’s , Angles, Channels , Structures etc. We source quality Steel Billets from Indian producers, mainly in sizes 130mm x 130mm, 160mm x 160mm, as per required specifications, for export to Middle East and South East Asian markets.

MS Billets are round or square cross-sectioned metal length which is created directly by the process of continuous casting or by indirectly hot rolling an ingot. Mild steel (iron containing a small percentage of carbon, strong and tough but not readily tempered), also known as plain-carbon steel and low-carbon steel, is now the most common form of steel because its price is relatively low while it provides material properties that are acceptable for many applications.

Mild steel contains approximately 0.05–0.30% carbon making it malleable and ductile. Mild steel has a relatively low tensile strength, but it is cheap and easy to form; surface hardness can be increased through carburizing.

Applications of MS Billets:

  • M.S. Billets are used for rolling of TMT Re-Bars and various other structural steel products.
  • Billets are used to produce bar stock and wire.
  • Steel billets are used for further stages of metal casting.
  • Steel billets are utilized as a crude material or feedstock in expulsion, fashioning, rolling, and other metal preparing applications.
  • Used to make bars, poles, areas specifically shapes.
  • Used extensively in forge or machine shops for the production of engineering and machining parts and components.
  • Applicable for fasteners, turned components, milled components, machined components, precision components, and parts, etc.
